For the week ending 16 January 2010 / 29 Tevet 5770
Kefar Piness "Lovers of Zion"
This moshav was established in the north of Israel in 1936 and named in honor of Yechiel Michel Piness, a writer and a leader of the "Chovevei Zion" movement.
Inscribed on his monument in Jerusalem is a tribute to his pioneering role in settling Eretz Yisrael and his contribution to the revival of the Hebrew language.
